We have all seen the results of this year’s hurricanes. Whole communities have been ravaged by these savage storms. We have also witnessed American bravery at it’s finest, as local boaters have stepped forward to help rescue neighbors trapped by the floodwaters.
Unfortunately, in many locations responding boaters were stopped by local authorities due to lack of training and for liability issues. So what do we do? People still need to be rescued from the flooding, but officials in charge also have a responsibility to make certain that the responders are trained and capable.
After deliberating over the situation, V.V. has decided to prepare for next year’s storms by forming the Vecino Verde Small Boat Strike Force.
Our initial location will be in the New Bern, NC area.
